The advantages of CRM are so many that they cannot be listed in just one article. I'll try my best though to highlight the best of the lot. A properly planned and designed CRM system can give an organization a clear cut advantage over an organization that doesn't use it.
Personalized and better relationships with customers are the key to the success of an organization and that's exactly what a CRM system will give you.
The difference between an organization with a CRM system and without one can be clearly seen in the business decisions and the ROI.
A single customer
CRM shows us that every customer is unique and needs to be approached with marketing plan that is based on his/her buying habits. The customer cannot be treated as part of a group. Also you need to ensure that you never lose a sale owing to a delay that might be caused by any of your departments.
CRM software will enable this as all the departments in your organization will work in sync with each other. You will have a complete 360 degree view of each and every customer. This in turn will increase the opportunity for sales and efficiency of customer service. Increased customer satisfaction and retention is also a feature of a CRM system.
Clear advantages
- It projects an extremely customer centric face of the company to the customer.
- At the same time, back end operations are equally efficient.
- It will be much easier for you to predict customer behavior with techniques like collaborative filtering, predictive modeling etc.
- Historical data will be blended with predictive science to make highly precise decisions that can be accurate to a great extent.
- Listen to the needs of the customer and act accordingly to maximize the efficiency of your business.

Some businesses/organizations didn't realize the importance of CRM esp this recession time, and I am glad that there are affordable and reliable CRMs still available today. We have been using subscriber.NET (www.subscriber.co.uk) for our organization and it really helped us organize fundraising events, payment processing etc.
I will share this article to my friends. Thank you.

I just published an article entitled 'Why CRM sucks'!
I'm happy to debate his opposing view -- either here or there. The truth is, our position is not as contrarian as it sounds -- at least with respect to the technology.

You are right but there still is the problem of user acceptance and usage. I would live to see a sales rep that loves his CRM system and uses it other than just a forecasting tool for their manager.
thanks,

CRM gives your enterprise a 360° view of each customer for consistent and unified contact with that customer whenever anyone anywhere in the enterprise deals with that customer. This knowledge increases the opportunities for sales and the effectiveness of customer service. It also enables your customers to have a consistent view of your enterprise, regardless of the way the customer contacts you. This improves customer satisfaction and customer retention. To enable front office staff to perform sales, service and marketing tasks more efficiently as a team, increasing expertise and reducing costs. This can be added as n advantages of CRM

I think, especially in a down economy, that making your clients feel like a valued part of your business, and not just a sale, is what will really drive business. My company is mostly referral-based, because I just don't have the budget for a large scale marketing campaign. Therefore I know how important it is to make each one of my clients feel important. I use a CRM called Chili Sales, and I feel they're the most in-tune with the idea of knowing your customers' wants and needs, and meeting their expectations. Then I can find who my most satisfied customers are and leverage that relationship to bring in new clients. That's really the right way to use a CRM. Make your customers feel valued and satisfied, and they'll be your best salespeople. Isn't that the point of Customer Relationship Management?
You can take a look at their site at www.chilisales.com. Hope this helps!

You are correct that there is still great value in CRM... even in a down economy. In fact, I foresee businesses beginning to see this value in a new light and start to integrate CRM with other parts of the business. I recently wrote a case study describing where this very thing happened at a Fortune 100 company. It's on my website: http://www.adaptds.com/crm-issue-tracking-case-studies
Thanks for the post

I agree there are many advantages to CRM systems. But they must be implemented properly, reflecting your business processes and gaining buy-in from all members of staff. A CRM system needs buy-in from everyone in a team. It can’t be used by some staff and not others, or just used when convenient. It’s often a cultural shift for a company, but the gains inherent in successful, professionally deployed CRM system can be outstanding.

All your points are valid and well worth considering.
For me, coming from an IT/Security background, one major benefit of a CRM is the historical data or "paper trail". It's extremely valuable and powerful to be able to recite, verbatim in some cases, conversations with clients r vendors. Unfounded claims will be greatly diminished.

You are certainly right about there being alot of advantages to utilizing a crm service for your business: Management, automated marketing, organization, etc.. It really does build a sense of security in your customers letting them know that you care enough to document all the information that they give you to get things done right and effectively. Keep up the good work!

I agree with all of your posts I just wonder why is it companies feel the need to invest money into a CRM system at all. I personally feel that the transition from large software expenditures to free online CRM systems has become increasingly popular. I've found that companies such as octopuscity.com provide a similar if not better product, than the likes of ACT or GoldMine, and octopuscity.com is completely FREE!!! It also incorporates an online business network, with numerous syncing capabilities, it's a really great system you guys should definitely check it out.

Personally, I think CRM Systems are great! However, I would always recommend that before you invest money in a CRM system, that you ensure your businesses processes are correct.... and then find a system which will match those processes. Dont adapt your business to match the CRM system!

I looked at comparecrm, but couldn't find any review about our online crm software called B-Kin. The software is well oriented to email marketing and helpdesk solutions, and we have a free version. Give a try, and give feedback!!

I think that some of the largest advantages of a CRM are the integrations with other tools that benefit marketing, operations, accounting, lead gen and other departments that seemlessly work with the CRM.

I undoubtly agree with your insights. CRMs and LRMs can produce a significant relationship with leads, prospects, customers, contacts, and buyers. Having a CRM or LRM will also allow a companies and agents understand how to approach certain leads/prospects based on recorded history or adjustments made to the lead's account.
Like I stated, I completely concur with your suggestions and opinions and can see and have witnessed the increase in sales and relationships within all varieties of companies.
Good work!

Your right about the numerous advantages of CRM; Succinct post. Sometimes makes you wonder why is it that most companies have a poor experience with CRM. The advent of SaaS has bought the technology to the doorstep of SMBs, good on them and good for CRM.
